Privacy Policy
Last updated October 15, 2026
This policy explains what information Muddlers Inc. (“Muddlers”, “we”) collects through drinkmuddlers.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. We’re based in Vancouver, British Columbia.
If you have a question about this policy or your information, email us at info@drinkmuddlers.com. Our Commercial Director is responsible for privacy at Muddlers.
What we collect and why
When you contact us
If you use our contact form, we collect your name, email address, what your enquiry is about, and the message you write. We use them only to reply to you. Your message is delivered to our email inbox.
We won’t add you to a mailing list or send you marketing because you contacted us.
To keep out spam
The contact form uses Google reCAPTCHA, which checks whether a submission comes from a person or an automated program. To do that, reCAPTCHA collects information such as your IP address and how you interact with the page, and sends it to Google. This site is protected by reCAPTCHA and the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply.
When you look for a store
Our store finder shows stores near you. If you allow it, your browser shares your location with the page. If you don’t, we estimate your approximate location from your IP address using ipapi.co, a third-party service. You can also type in any address instead, using Google’s address search.
To find stores, the location you search from and any cocktail you filter by are sent to our store database, which keeps a record of each search so we can understand where people are looking for Muddlers. That record doesn’t include your name, email address, IP address or anything else that identifies you, and the location you search from is never stored with your IP address, in that record or in our server logs.
The map itself is provided by Google Maps, which receives your IP address when it loads.
To understand how the site is used
We use Google Analytics, which uses cookies to collect information such as the pages you visit, how you arrived at the site, your device and browser, and your approximate location (at city level, estimated from your IP address). We see this as combined reports and don’t use it to identify you. You can opt out with Google’s opt-out browser add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser settings.
When you confirm your age
When you confirm that you’re of legal drinking age, we save a small cookie in your browser so you aren’t asked again for 30 days. It contains no personal information.
Instagram posts
The Instagram posts on our homepage are loaded through our own website, so viewing them doesn’t share your information with Instagram. If you click through to Instagram, Instagram’s privacy policy applies.
Cookies
- Age confirmation (ours): remembers that you confirmed your age. Lasts 30 days.
- Google Analytics (Google): measures how the site is used. Lasts up to 2 years.
- Google reCAPTCHA (Google): protects the contact form from spam.
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. The site still works without them, but you’ll be asked to confirm your age on each visit.
Who we share information with
We don’t sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with the companies that run parts of this site for us, as described above:
- Google: email delivery, spam protection, maps, address search and analytics
- Our email provider: receiving and storing messages you send us
- ipapi.co: estimating your approximate location for the store finder
- the companies that host this website and our store database for us
Some of these companies process information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be accessed by courts and authorities under the laws of that country.
How long we keep it
- Contact messages stay in our email for as long as they’re useful for following up with you or for our records. You can ask us to delete yours at any time.
- Store search records don’t identify you, and we keep them to understand demand over time.
- Google Analytics data is kept for the retention period set in our Google Analytics account.
Your choices
You can ask us at any time to:
- tell you what personal information we have about you
- correct it
- delete it
- stop using it, where we rely on your consent
Email info@drinkmuddlers.com and we’ll respond within 30 days. If you’re not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.
Security
Information sent through this site is encrypted in transit (look for “https” in your browser’s address bar). Only people who need it to reply to you or to run the site can see it.
Legal drinking age
Muddlers makes alcoholic drinks. This site is intended only for people of legal drinking age in their province or territory, and we don’t knowingly collect information from anyone younger.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll post the new version on this page and update the date at the top.
